Why did Aladdin's palace disappear, and how did the sorcerer get hold of the lamp?

In the original story of Aladdin, or the closest to it that I've read, the sorcerer disguised himself as a pedlar and tricked the Princess Badr al-Budur into trading the magic lamp for a new one — he then used it to send the palace, and the princess within it, to his own land. The emperor thus blamed Aladdin for this, denouncing the lost palace as a mere conjuring trick.

As for why it was eventually found floating around Wak-Wak, your guess is as good as mine.
